Isso é uma bobagem sem tamanho. Eu diria que o(a) gordinho(a) é quem mais deveria aderir à musculação! A musculação pode desencadear 1) a melhora da capacidade de oxidação de gorduras presentes dentro e fora do músculo e 2) o aumento da sensibilidade do tecido adiposo a hormônios responsáveis pela lipólise. Ademais, um músculo treinado pode otimizar a utilização da gordura como fonte de energia. A identificação do músculo esquelético como um órgão secretor teve implicações clínicas relevantes e criou um novo paradigma: músculos produzem e liberam miocinas, as quais atuam de modo endócrino (caem na corrente sanguínea e produzem efeitos positivos em outros órgãos). Miocinas estão envolvidas na mediação de múltiplos benefícios de saúde que decorrem do exercício.
