Here’s a view @brendonkahnphoto left out while sharing his recent photographs from the Northern Jaguar Reserve and Viviendo con Felinos ranches. Consider this to be what the landscape looks like behind the scenes. Backpacking into some of the steep, upper reaches of the reserve meant traveling through incredibly dense vegetation. Just because the plants were not all leafed out didn’t make scrambling up a slippery slope any easier when your only options for something to hold onto over many hours is a kapok tree or a pitaya. And all those vines made you wish someone remembered the machete. Thank you Brendon for your wonderful images!
