It's split into two major sensory groups: One called 'taste' and the other called 'mouthfeel'. The 'taste' is a result of our taste buds interacting with the wine. Taste buds are those little nodules that sit all around our tongue. They allow us to recognize tasting profiles such as sweet, sour, salt, acid, unami and bitter.  We usually refer to the smell of wine as a 'bouquet' or 'aroma', but in simple speak, all smells are a form of 'odor' (small compounds that glide through the air until we suck them up our nose or mouth). There's two ways we're able to smell an odor. #Repost @quappzburgers ・・・ double "All American" w/ bacon from @monroesburgers in Healesville, Vic. dbl Prime Yarra Valley beef, mustard mayonnaise, double smoked cheddar, pickles, lettuce, red onion, and tomato relish & added Bacon. Finally got the chance to check this place out, and boy am I glad that I did. Juicy patties packed full of flavour, encompassed in a mixture of great sauces. Don't let the tomato relish fool you (normally I hate relish, and it brings back memories of sub-par cafe "burgers", however this is not the case here.) It was one of the best I've had. Flowing melted cheese and finally a very unique soft bun with a slight crust (sourced from a local bakery) rounded out what was a great burger that I couldn't fault. Good to have a refreshing a change change from the usual brioche etc. The place also stocks all of the yarra valley's craft beers brewed locally. I washed this down with a @napoleone_brews Longbow ESB, a bloody ripper of a beer. If you ever find yourself outside of Melbourne and heading this way, make sure to make a stop here!.

@TatsuRamen to warm my lil black heart! ʚ 🖤ɞ Sorry to get sappy for a hot sec, but 12 year old Bex would have never imagined myself actually working in and around the food industry (even though by age 12 the only gifts given to me were kitchen gadgets and equipment). I should have known that I was going to end up doing something food related when I had a mid-life crisis watching Anthony Bourdain eating food all over the world and decided to pack up and move to Canada to get out of my college town of Davis, CA. 🍜 Anyway, in the last few years food has become more than just a hobby. Despite studying art history and wanting to work in the music industry, the past year I decided I wanted it to be more than something I drool over on TV and on Instagram. Last week I worked in a professional kitchen for the first time in my life (and a Michelin-starred restaurant during the heat of dineLA mind you). It was scary as shit. The following day, I found myself assisting on a shoot of one of my fav things in the world- ramen. And the next day driving during a torrential downpour and through a literal pool on the 110 while weaving through fallen trees just to get Indian food in Altadena. Who knew I'd end up doing any of this???.
