Before I set out Today, i decided I was going to enjoy my run. I intentionally didn't plan on the number of kms I wanted to log. I just decided to breathe through it and enjoy the new songs I added to my playlist. And I did.
I've noticed when I inhale and exhale through my mouth, I get into rhythmic breathing (akin to lamaze) and I don't gas out.
Getting enough oxygen when working out helps boost your energy. "The more air you inhale, the more oxygen is available to be transferred through your circulatory system to your working muscles" Less stress, less fatigue! Why stress my nostrils??? Apart from running, controlled breathing has been found beneficial. In yoga and/or meditation, stress management etc etc. Read about it
