An improvisation born of the realization that a really rich, dense Pedro Ximenez sherry is beautifully balanced by its spirituous polar opposite, the ethereal, almost ghostly whisp of a pear brandy bottled by @clearcreekdistillery. A quick pour of equal parts swirled in a tasting glass confirmed my intuition (rich, elegant, evocative, heavenly), so I threw together an improvised stirred drink on that theme, built on a split base of young cognac and demerara rum, which does not disappoint. It's a malleable formula that may yet yield superior variations but right now this is one I'd be happy to drink in triplicate.
